Summary of the outsiders (5-7)

Summary of the outliers (5-7)
In the next day, Johnny got back to the church in the outside as Ponyboy woke up. He brought lots of supplies, such as baloney and cigarettes, and a paperback copy that signed Gone with the Wind. Also, they had cut the hair in order to camouflage themselves. As they were reading the paperback, Johnny mentioned that the southern gentleman was similar to Dally, but Ponyboy disagreed, and thought that Dally was similar to others greasers. Besides, a poem called “Nothing Gold Can Stay” touched Johnny as Ponyboy was reading it to him. After a few days, Dally appeared in the church and told them that the police have already discovered the body of Bob, and seeking for that murderer. After that, he also mentioned that Socs and greasers will meet in a day as Socs was thinking that the murderer must be one of the greasers.

At this moment, Johnny told Dally that he wanted to confess to his crime, and asked him to drive him back even he tried to purchase him not to do that. During the period of way of returning home, they all saw that the church was on fire as they were approaching it. Both of Johnny and Ponyboy jumped out of the car and went to church because they believed that the fire was originated in their cigarette butt. Afterward, they went to save the children that one of the married couple was calling for help that their children were missing. They did find the children and lift them out of the window. At this moment, the roof fell down, Johnny was screaming after he lifted Ponyboy out of the window. Ponyboy did not have a chance to save him because Dally was knocked him down in order to prevent him to back to the fire place. As Ponyboy woke up and noticed that he was in an ambulance, there was a teacher called Jerry Wood that Dally saved his life, but he was burned, and also told him that Johnny was there as well. Then, Ponyboy told the story about Bob’s death to Jerry as they were in hospital. Jerry believed that Johnny was just in self-defense at that moment, and purchased him not to smoke. Afterward, Ponyboy went to hug with his brothers as Darry and Sodapop both arrived, and also he believed that everything will be fine.

At the same time, the police came to find Ponyboy in order to write a report about their incident. After that, the doctors came to explain that Johnny will be crippled as his back was broken by the burning roof. In the next day, they have read the newspaper about them during breakfast. It mentioned Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally all were heroes as they saved the children in the church. Besides, it also said that Johnny will be charged in manslaughter. Also, Ponyboy might be sent to the boy’s home after they went to the juvenile court. In there, he told other boys that he had a nightmare last night that the first time of occurring was in the previous night of his parent’s funeral. In the next day, he did ask Sodapop about Sandy, and Sodapop told him she was in pregnancy. But her parents were not allowed their marriage because they thought Sodapop was still too young. Then, in the restaurant, they noticed a blue Mustang and some Socs were in there. Randy came over to find Ponyboy for a secret talk, and it was in order to ask him why he did save the children as he was being one of the greasers. Throughout a conversation, Ponyboy realized that Socs can be human and vulnerable.
