South Korea Ferry Disaster
On 16th
April, 2014, it has been occurred a ferry disaster in South Korea. There was
286 passengers was killed by Sewol ferry disaster, most of them were high
school students. Besides, there was 18 people were still missing. After the
ferry disaster, people put all the faults to the captain. As all the people
were staying in the safe place and shouldn’t go away, they did not noticed that
the captain was being the first person that escaped from the ferry. The captain
was not announced escape instructions, he was just telling people to stay
there. So it must be him that caused the ferry disaster by his work fault. It meant
he was not made the announcement to tell anyone to escape. Besides, in the news
report, it mentioned that the ferry was turned sharply to the right, and also
it was in the condition of full speed. There was only one person could make the
decision of turning right or left, that must be the captain.
And now, on 10th June, 2014, the captain
that called Lee Joon-seok and three people was standing trial on the court. They
were charged to be homicide, that facing the maximum sentence of death. By his
work fault, he has killed over 200 people in that day. Also, the ferry operator
is still missing now. Authorities are still looking for a person that owned the
operator of the doomed ferry that called Yoo Byung-un. It is because he
embezzled public funds that refer to be a main problem that cause to the
damaged safety management. Therefore, the lawyer is waiting for the judges’
wise decision, that was the only words that he could say to him.
